Summary: This debut novel by David Safier follows the trials and tribulations of Kim Karlsen, a television personality whose career obsession brings her some serious cosmic repercussions. In her quest to dominate the airwaves, Kim cheats on her husband, neglects her daughter, and mistreats her staff. It all seems worth it when she wins the biggest German Television Award, but sadly on the very same night she is crushed to death by debris falling from a Russian space station. At the gates of Heaven, she is informed that she has collected too much bad karma in her life, and has a long road of atonement ahead. Reincarnation as an ant teaches her a few lessons in humility, and she experiences existence as a guinea pig and as a beagle before regaining human form just in time to sabotage the marriage of her husband to her back-stabbing best friend.

Book review: My aunt reccomended me this books a lot of time ago, but I just got it  and I read it in two days. It´s a really easy book to read, it keeps you entertained, and the language is not very difficult to understand. The story begins the day when the TV Awards (a very important German television awards) are going to be celebrated, when Kim, the main character, is going to skip her daughter´s birthday. She argues with her husband before she goes to the awards, together with a lot of infortunates along the day, finally ending with her death. She wakes up, everything is alright, but, - she´s no longer human.
The characters are very well developed, and Kim, the way she narrates is just hilarious. This book is the perfect mix of laughter and tears. It shows us to love what we have, because one day everything could dissappear in a blink. The best one is Casanova (yes, it is on the book), who always has a perfect setence and helps Kim throughout the entire book, since the moment they meet. Alongside the book, it shows us the point of view of this character, even thought the book is told by Kim in first person, also in present.
The character development is the most important detail of the book, how she goes from cheating on her husband, disminding her daughter and not treating her equals precisely well to risk her life for others - to say an example - makes us think about our behaviour with people around us,and about what is right and wrong. It teachs us not to make things for our own interest, but to think on the repercussions it brings.
To end with, this book has taught me and has made me laugh. Easy novel to read, with its pros and cros, but well-written. I reccomend this book to teens and adults, but mostly adults. Really enjoyable.
8,25/10 (this is my opinion. It has nothing to do with any official reviews of readers or anything. Just me.
If you´ve read this book please tell me about you opinions below, together with you opinion on this review. Please be merciful with me, it´s my first review and I´m not really good at writing in English (not my mothetongue). My apologies if I commited any fault, please correct me on the comments.
See you next friday!
Spread the love!
